Step by Step Guide to Opening a Casumo Sportsbook Account
When you go to the Casumo website for the first time, you will see that there are two sign-up buttons, one in the top right-hand corner of the website and one in the middle of the homepage.
Click either one of these buttons, and you will be presented with three welcome bonus options: the casino bonus, the sportsbook bonus or no bonus at all.
For this Casumo review, we chose the sportsbook option (please note, you cannot claim the sportsbook welcome bonus and the casino welcome bonus, it is one or the other.
You will then be taken to the four-step sign-up process. The welcome bonus you have chosen will be pre-populated in the sign-up form.
- The first step is to fill in your email address, phone number and to choose a password.
- In step 2, enter the beginning of your postal address and choose the correct address from the drop-down menu.
- Step 3 requires your first and last names (make sure you enter these details as they appear on your ID).
Finally, in step 4, you will be asked to enter your date of birth, place of birth and gender as well as confirming you are over 18 years of age.
An ID check will automatically be made to confirm your age and identity. If this check is not conclusive, you will be asked to comply with a KYC check (know your customer).
Fully Licenced and Regulated – What More Could You Ask?
As with any bookie that operates in the UK, Casumo is fully regulated by the UK Gambling Commission which means that they comply with the strict criteria which are required for authorisation.
In a nutshell, this means that as a Casumo customer, you don’t have to worry about anything regarding the security of your account, including personal information and the protection of deposited funds.
Looking at the Casumo website, it is apparent that they take responsible gambling seriously, with lots of help and advice offered to their customers, along with links to GamCare and Gamble Aware.
Mouth Watering Bonuses and Promotions
We are pretty impressed by the bonuses and promotions at Casumo, so let’s start by looking at the Casumo UK welcome offer.
It is advertised as 50% back as a free bet up to £25 if your first bet loses, but as you would probably expect if you had experienced bonuses like this before, it is not as straightforward as it first seems.
Your first bet has to be an accumulator and the terms and conditions state that this accumulator needs to have minimum odds of 3.0 (2/1) and a minimum of 3 legs.
If the bet wins, you can walk away with your winnings. If it loses, you will get 50% of your initial stake back as a free bet. It should be noted that the free bet does not have to be placed on an acca, but it is stake not-returned (SNR).
We don’t see anything to be alarmed about in the terms and conditions for this welcome bonus apart from the fact that the maximum payout for the offer is £1000.
So, if you are taking advantage of the maximum stake of £50 for this welcome bonus, you should first calculate the return should your acca be successful.
As an example, you place a 3-leg acca with a £50 stake, and each selection has odds of 5.0 (4/1).
If the bet is successful, the return on the bet would be £6250, but you would only receive £1000.
This shows the power of this type of bet, but it also shows you that you should be using lower odds in order not to find yourself in this situation.
Also, don’t forget you don’t have to go in with the maximum of £50 for your first bet, £2 is the minimum.
As for ongoing bonuses and promotions for existing players, they are advertised under the ‘Promotions’ tab as well as being displayed across the top of the website once you are logged in.
You should be aware that many of these offers are pointing towards the casino; it does seem like Casumo does take every opportunity to encourage customers to play casino games.
Easy on the Eye and Easy to Use
We have no problems whatsoever with the design and layout of the Casumo UK website.
We were able to register an account, log in and place bets quickly and without any hassle in trying to find the markets we wanted to place bets on.
If you enjoy placing bets on the horses, there is a handy display at the top of the website which tells you how long until the next race. If you see a promotion that takes your fancy, it is just a matter of clicking on the promotion and you will be taken straight to it.
How to Place a Bet
Placing a bet on the Casumo website is a flawless process. Just click on the odds of your required selection, and a betting slip will automatically open on the right-hand side of the website containing your selection.
If you would like to place a bet on more than one selection, just follow the same process and each selection will be added to the betting slip.
There are three options at the top of the bet slip. Singles, Combination and System, and it makes a refreshing change to see Treble, Trixie, Patent, etc options instead of combinations bets that no one has heard of before.
At the bottom left of the betting slip, you will see that there is the cashout button; the value of the cash out will be displayed if it is available on that particular bet.
A good way to describe the bet-placing process at Casumo UK is that it is so slick; you don’t have to give it a second thought, just choose your selections, place your bets, and away you go.
How to Make a Deposit into Your Account
If you look at the top of the Casumo website, you will see the wallet symbol, which looks like three gold coins.
Click on that and you will be taken to the cashier page.
One thing that immediately stands out is that if there are any bonuses and promotions available to you, there will be a drop-down option to choose a bonus when you make a deposit.
Care should be taken because when we were about to make a deposit, there was a 40% deposit bonus available, which we were about to accept until it became apparent that it was a casino bonus with a 30x deposit plus bonus wager requirement; thanks, but no thanks!
Underneath the bonus offers, there is also an option to decline all bonuses, so make sure you click on that button if the offers don’t appeal to you.
There is not a massive range of payment options, card, PayPal, Instant Banking, NETELLER, Skrill, Trustly and paysafecard. For some reason, the debit card we tried was not accepted, so we used Trustly (with the same bank), and the deposit went smoothly.
When it comes to making a withdrawal from your account, just click on the Withdrawal button from within the cashier, enter the amount of withdrawal along with the payment method from the drop-down menu, and that’s it.
Just like the rest of the website, very simple, just how we like it.

A Wide Range of Markets
To be perfectly honest with you, too much emphasis is often placed on the number of markets that are available.
Let’s look at the markets for a football match for example, in particular, the recent England v Rep of Ireland international.
Casumo offered around 380 markets on this match, whereas William Hill had priced up over 700, which is pretty impressive from Hills, but for the majority of punters who will only be interested in a small number of markets, the number of markets doesn’t matter.
What we are trying to say is that Casumo has more than enough markets across the various sports, but for football betting, 1×2, over/under, correct score, goalscorer markets etc will be all that most punters are interested in.
Plenty of Sports to Choose From
There is a wide selection of sports to bet on at Casumo, but if you are a lover of less popular sports, such as handball or beach volleyball, you will be disappointed.
Greyhound Racing is also not available, which is a surprise as many UK punters like a tipple on the dogs, but the demand at Casumo is obviously not there, otherwise they would surely offer Greyhound Racing to their customers.
Football, tennis, horse racing, rugby, cricket and even esports are listed on the website, though, so if you are interested in placing bets on the more mainstream sports, you can’t go wrong with Casumo.
Take Advantage of Live Betting Opportunities
Live betting is available at Casumo and you can see what events are available to place live bets on by clicking on the ‘Live Right Now’ button at the top of the website.
You will be directed to a page that lists the live betting sporting events along with the different markets that are available in each event.
We were interested in football live betting when writing this review and it would be fair to say that there was an impressive range of live betting opportunities from across the world, a Lithuania A Lyga Play-Off match being a prime example.
As far as we could tell, live streaming is available at Casumo, while we have always emphasised its importance, it’s an excellent addition that enhances the overall betting experience when deciding to open a betting account.
Impressive Mobile Betting Options
Casumo does have a native Casumo app and credit where credit’s due. We were very impressed.
We downloaded the iPhone version from the Apple App Store, but it is also available for Android devices from the Google Play store.
The design of the app is very slick, easy to navigate and it has a good feel to it. We like an app that is responsive, and you can usually tell if this is the case from the moment you open it.
We placed a bet on the under/over 2.5 goals market on a football match, and we were surprised by how responsive the app is. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that this Casumo app is one of the best that we have come across.
We logged in with our usual login details, and it looks like there are no special bonuses or promotions for the mobile version of the website, but you can claim and play the regular offers on a mobile.
We also tried the Casumo mobile version of the website by entering the Casumo URL in our mobile web browser and we couldn’t fault that either. All in all, we were very impressed by the Casumo mobile setup.
- High quality native Casumo app
- Well designed and easy to navigate
- Bonuses and promotions can be used on mobile version of the website
- Very responsive when placing bets
- Casumo mobile version of the website is excellent
Safe as Houses
Casumo UK is fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, so you can rest assured that you will not be dealing with a dodgy bookmaker or anything like that.
We always double-check on the UK Gambling Commission website that everything is above board with a cookie when we are carrying out a review, and you will no doubt be pleased to know that everything is above board.
There are links on their website to charities that can help if you are experiencing any problems with your gambling, BeGambleAware, GamStop, etc, so when it comes to responsible gambling, Casumo is more than meeting the requirements set by the Gambling Commission.
Customer Care – Helpful or Not?
Casumo customer support can be contacted by email and live chat. We tried live chat a couple of times, and on both occasions, we got the impression that the live chat operators had a pretty basic knowledge of sports betting. We asked a basic question that required a yes or no answer, and we were told to email support to get a definite answer.
The operators are friendly enough, and we didn’t have to wait long to get connected to live chat, but we do believe it could be quite stressful if you were trying to get a problem resolved in a short space of time, a bet that you had just placed, for example.
We didn’t try email support but as with most bookies, it will be the same customer support staff that you are dealing with.
Casumo UK – A Yay or a Nay?
We have had a Casumo account since they first opened to UK punters and we look at it more as a fun account as a bookie where we would consider placing big bets.
The website and Casumo app have a fun feel to it, probably aimed at the younger market, but on saying that, it is a bookie that we would recommend opening an account with if you haven’t already.
The welcome bonus is worth taking advantage of, as are some of the bonuses that are offered to existing customers, but you should be aware that quite a few of these offers involve the casino section of the website.
If that’s not your thing, be sure to give these promotions a miss.
To sum up this Casumo review, it’s not a bad bookie at all and one that we often use for small bets and sportsbook promotions.
