Following Derby Della Madonnina, AC Milan found itself in a very difficult situation. Rossoneri are 12th in the standings and are not looking good at all. They were utterly inferior against the local rivals, and now have to bounce back at any cost. But that won’t be easy, because Torino has its own plans for this match. The Bulls to are in decline, which needs to be stopped. They can’t afford losing points at home anymore, and regardless of Milan’s name, a win is a must this Thursday.

Walter Mazzarri’s team is going through a crisis. They have three defeats in four matches, four in the last six. And for the first time this season they didn’t score a goal, which is pretty disturbing for one unit with such a massive potential upfront. It is only the second game in the last 10 the Bulls played which didn’t see three or more scores. Also, it is the third during the same period without both teams to score. The capabilities of Torino are pretty high, and a 2-3 win on the road against Atalanta showcased that. But the oscillations they produce are enormous. Immediately in the next round, Lecce took all three points at Olimpico, 1-2. It appears that the downfall started after the elimination from the Europa League where Wolves defeated Torino in both matches.

Milan is nowhere near where they want to be. And truth to be told, the team led by Marco Giampaolo is simply not worthy of anything more. The Italian manager himself is not the top level, and he isn’t a guy who can bring trophies at San Siro even with a much better roster, and that is slowly starting to emerge to the surface. Milan prefers an ultra-defensive style of play. The match against Inter was the first one with two goals after four straights, which ended under 1.5 goals. All of them saw both teams not to score. That happened seven times over the latest 10 matches. And that pretty much tells everything.

Team News

Torino has two questions ahead of this event. Those are Cristian Ansaldi and Vittorio Parigini, who both have thigh injuries. Ansaldi’s absence might be a problem, but Mazzarri has options to replace him.

Mattia Caldara is out for the hosts until late October, and he isn’t going to be available for a long time.

Prediction

Under 2.5 goals is the first recommendation. We believe that all of you would agree on this pick. Torino will, for sure, try to play and will be aggressive, but on the other hand, do expect a bus parked in front of Donnarumma’s net. It is the only way Giampaolo know to play, as he doesn’t have either the players or the knowledge to dictate the tempo and the pace of the game. Betfair offers great odds at 8/11 for this one.

The second tip is in correlation with the above-mentioned, and that is both teams not to score. We really think that Milan can’t score in this one. But just to be safe, we will include both sides in this equation so that we can have a wider margin for error. Bet365 offer sits at 19/20.
